Students who are planning on taking a course over the summer or during the school year in addition to their 6 OHS classes, would enroll themselves in the class.  Upon successful completion, the student will provide his or her counselor with the certificate of completion in order to have that class added to the OHS transcript. A letter grade will be issued based on the percentage earned using the OHS grading scale.

Students do not need to complete an OPS Online Learning application prior to taking coursework on their own, but are encourage to communicate with their school counselor to ensure they are enrolling in the correct class and that the course will be accepted by Okemos High School.  Okemos Public Schools does not provide financial assistance to any coursework taken for courses taken during the summer or in addition to their 6 OHS classes taken during the school year.

Please be aware that OHS policy requires students to test out of any prerequisite classes that they take online or at the college level to be eligible for an Advanced Placement course.

Current students will need to create an account with www.parchment.com. Once an account is created, the student can then order transcripts to be sent to colleges and universities.  

OHS counselors will upload transcripts for students who are applying through CommonApp (as a part of the School Report) and for students who have registered with the NCAA Eligibility Center.  

The Registrar's Office at Okemos High School is located within the Counseling Department. The Registrar is responsible for managing student transcripts and serves as the administrator of our student information management system, PowerSchool. Please fill out the Transcript Request form below.  Thank you.

Verification of High School Diploma:
A release from the student is required to verify a high school diploma, dates of attendance, etc. This release must be faxed to: 517-337-4538 Attn: Registrar. Upon completion the information will be faxed back to sender. OHS will not release any student information without a release from the student.

Many schools are using the Common Application as a comprehensive way to apply to several schools. The CommonApp website offers several tutorials about how to use the portal. If you don't see an answer to your question, feel free to email you counselor or schedule an appointment!

Many teachers require (or desire) a brag sheet from students. This serves as a resume of sorts so that teachers have a reference when creating a letter of recommendation. The more detailed a brag sheet is, the easier it is for a teacher to write a letter. Counselors also love to receive copies of brag sheets, but also meet with seniors for a Senior Meeting in order to discuss items to put in a letter of recommendation.

Yes there are! All information about AP deadlines and scheduling can be found on the Advanced Placement page under Academic Resources.  There are both deadlines for applying to AP courses (in the winter of the year before you would like to take the class) and for the AP exams (in the fall of the year you want to take the exam).

You will have to register yourself by going to www.actstudent.org. 

Students who are enrolled in the free/reduced lunch program can get up to two ACT fee waivers during both their junior and senior years.  Please see your school counselor for more information.

You will have to register yourself by going to www.collegeboard.org. The only exception to self-registration is the SAT given during the April State Testing window.  Okemos High School will register students for the April SAT test that is taken as a part of M-STEP testing.

All OHS 9th and 10th graders will take the PSAT9/PSAT10 in April of their freshmen and sophomore years. The district registers students for this test, families do not need to do anything.

Okemos offers the PSAT/NMSQT test for any interested junior each October.  Information on registration for the PSAT/NMSQT will be posted in Google Classroom and in the OHS Newsletter at the beginning of the school year.
