Hedlun Walton, Director of Counseling
Hedlun Walton graduated from Alma College, where he double-majored in Psychology and English. He worked with adjudicated youth through Eagle Village in Hersey, MI before entering the Counselor Education program at Central Michigan University. During his time at CMU Mr. Walton worked for Listening Ear in Mt. Pleasant as Crisis Line Staff, Foster Care Case Manager, and At-risk Youth Counselor. Upon graduation from CMU he joined the staff at St. Vincent Home in Lansing where he worked as a Case Planning Therapist in the residential program for abused and neglected children.
Mr. Walton joined the OHS Counseling Office for the 2002-2003 school year. He has served as Director of Counseling at OHS since the 2008-2009 school year and works with students in grades 10-12.
Mr. Walton lives in Okemos with his wife (Stephanie), three children (Audrey, Brennan, and Colin), and a Shih Tzu (Chi-Chi). In his spare time Mr. Walton enjoys listening to music, reading, and watching or playing sports.
